My current teaching and training activities include:

- FCUL's Bioimaging course (master's level) which I created and have maintained since 2007! This 35-40h lectures + practical course addresses all aspects of Bioimaging, from microscopy to biomedical imaging. These last 10y I have trained >300 students in bioimaging and image anlaysis techniques!

EMBO Practical Course on 3D Developmental ImagingThis is an advanced practical course on 3D imaging of embryos. The course is done with the collaboration of the  Advanced Imaging Unit of Instituto Gulbenkian de Ciência. This is an highly competitive course for which only 15 students from all over the world are selected. The new edition is bein planned for 2018!

- I am heavily involved in the organization of NEUBIAS training schools, so far 7 have been organized since 2016, with a total of more than 380 trainees selected from worldwide.

- I started a course on Practical Image Analysis in Biology, back in 2012 sponsored by CBA-FCUL, and have since made several microWorkshop versions of it, mostly at IGC.

- microWorkshop series, on microscopy or image analysis. These workshops are attended by ~20 participants from internal departments and from neighboring institutions. It includes training on the use of the equipment available at the Advanced Imaging Unit of IGC, or in analysis of microscopy images with ImageJ/FIJI.

I also participate regularly as an invited speaker in PhD programmes from FCUL, IGC and ITQB, and in imaging workshops in Portugal, Spain and US, some of which have featured my portable OpenT scanner! If you are interested in having this system featured in your worshop let me know!

If you attended one of my lectures/seminars and would like to have the presentation slides just drop me a message (click on my photo on the left sidebar!).
